Well it will!!!
We here @ BBN have partnered up with Jose Bonillas (Joser) to help him get in gear and have our shop name on a “from the ground up budget race car build” and also get our feet wet in road racing. We’ll be providing support before and after track events, maintenance, and down the road we’ll even drive this thing to see see what tracking is all about.
For Joser this is ver2.0, he has been driving the local AZ tracks with various organizations since 2003. He’ll be making the jump from just driving on track to actual wheel to wheel competition (w2w) and also Time Trial (TT) and Time Attack (TA) competition.
It’s been a slow start for the build as Joser planned to have the car out for the start of the 2011 season. Due to some health concerns plus delay in fab work its just about to start coming together. But better late than never right?!
Joser’s car has always had a D Series Honda engine, non-vtec to boot…..but that 100whp was not a problem for Joser, since he is a mad man and tosses that car around the track as if it had 200whp.
After much talk and debate, plus helping sell an old DA project he had laying around…we finally convinced him to go B20 (Thank you IPH)……..non-vtec still….in due time with this guy.
Here is the car:
1992 Honda Civic VX purchased back in 2001 with full interior/ac/gsr seats, and only a small drop on stock VX wheels. The stickers added by Joser to add horsepower.

The car went through a lot in 2 years before it actually saw a track. With the current trends back then and the JDM craze…..one thing Joser always had in the back of his mind was to drive his car like it was meant to be driven, HARD & FAST on track! In 2002 he joined NASA & then ProAutoSports.

Even then getting into battles with fellow Driver CJ around turn 2-3-4 @ PIR
Joser and his car have seen a lot of track time since 2002 til now. Known on local message boards as a or thee “track whore”. He even had to take a small break and stored the car for a few years. But in late 2007 came back and ran double events every month with ProAutoSports & NASA all through 2009. We asked him how many events/sessions and he had no idea. One weekend he recalls 13 sessions in 2.5 days…….talk about car abuse and tire/brake hate! Or is it Love??

What people "know" the car as on track...this was in storage still....

Now all this brings us to 2011…
The car has been in storage since October 2009. It’s been fully stripped of all its wiring and interior. New wheels, new seat, just about new everything will be done to this car……plus tons of safety gear for car/driver.
